Our suggestions Animal parks and educational farms

Discover our selection of animal parks and educational farms in the Haute-Saône region, where you can immerse yourself in nature with our animal friends and enjoy a tender, adorable and rejuvenating experience. Whether you’re with children or friends, these visits promise memorable experiences and unforgettable memories.

Au Gré du Pré

In the hamlet of Verchamp, Alexandre and Yann created the Au Gré du Pré educational farm, which today houses around a hundred animals of 30 different species. Come and see the yaks, alpacas, llamas and Kashmir goats. Admire the Watusi cows with their majestic horns and Chapman’s zebra on the African plain. Discover Australian wallabies and emus in a rural setting. For the little ones, the free-access mini-farm offers plenty of cuddles!

To make the moment even more special, try the goat’s cheese. Outside the animal park, Alexandre and Yann raise a small herd of 16 goats whose milk is transformed into fresh cheeses, flavoured and matured according to the season. The cheeses are on sale directly from the shop during the park’s opening hours.

You can also sample Yann’s home-made pastries in a pretty tearoom.

The estate Deer Park

The Domaine du Parc aux Daims, located in Scey-sur-Saône, covers 120 hectares. This wildlife park surrounds the remains of the Château de Bauffremont, of which only the stables are still visible. This is the only part that was rebuilt after the fire of 1795.

Here you can meet a variety of animals, including fallow deer, horses, ponies, dwarf goats, rabbits, donkeys, a Vietnamese pig, a llama and even wallabies. This natural setting is perfect for families and animal lovers, in an ideal environment for observation and relaxation.

The estate also offers accommodation: gîtes and chambres d’hôtes in the wings of the château and a gypsy caravan nestling in the grounds. A visit to the Domaine du Parc aux Daims promises relaxation and discovery in an enchanting setting in Haute-Saône.

Les P'tits Sentiers Ân'Imés

On the heights of Saint-Bresson, Les P’tits Sentiers Ân’Imés offers an unforgettable bucolic interlude. This educational touring farm, run by Pierrot and Perrine, offers a variety of activities for young and old alike. Go for a ride with a pack donkey and discover the Plateau des 1000 Étangs on guided walks. Experience magical moments during storytelling evenings, puppet shows or opt for a bivouac under the stars.

Discover the Angora goat farm, where Perrine transforms the fleece into Mohair wool. In the shop adjoining the goat farm, admire and buy handmade creations: scarves, gloves, socks and hats, all in soft Mohair.

Our recommendation

For lovers, enjoy the unique “Secret d’étangs” experience, a storytelling boat trip that awakens all your senses and ends with a tasting of local produce by the pond. For the full experience, spend the night in the bohemian caravan with Nordic bath.

The animal park From Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert

For a nature outing, head to the Parc Animalier de Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert, set in 60 hectares of unspoilt countryside. Follow a 4km signposted trail to discover a variety of animals including sika deer, Corsican mouflons, ibex and llamas. There are signposts along the way, making the visit fun and informative. Each year, the park’s activity leader, Philippe, creates a programme of activities suitable for all the family, including guided tours and nature workshops.

Have you ever visited the Parc Animalier de Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert after dark? In summer, Philippe offers you an original outing to awaken your senses and discover the fascinating world of nocturnal animals. This walk will allow you to observe the behaviour of the species that come to life after dark.

In autumn, don’t miss the “brâme du cerf”, a not-to-be-missed event where our host will explain this crucial period for deer.

The Banney forest

The Banney state forest, near Luxeuil-les-Bains, invites you to enjoy its lush green landscapes. Whether on foot, by bike or on horseback, you can take a variety of routes to discover Celtic fountains and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Go in search of the 8 fountains created by the primitive Celtic tribes well before the Roman conquest, and then used by the Sequans, a Gallic tribe from the region.

Forest animals such as wild boar and sika deer are easily spotted in the enclosures. Don’t forget your camera to capture these moments in the great outdoors. The Forêt du Banney is an ideal place to spend a pleasant day with the family.

The Bois Pâturés goat farm

At Servance, the Chèvrerie des Bois Pâturés invites you to discover life on the farm with Carine and Fred, who are passionate about their animals and their work.

During your visit, you’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with the goats and kids. Children will love taking part in milking the goats, a fun activity that will allow them to connect with these affectionate animals and get plenty of cuddles.

Take part in the “Rando chèvres”, a one-hour walk in the forest with the herd, where you can learn about the different breeds that make up the herd.

From April to September, picnic tables are available for families to enjoy an aperitif of farm produce, including cheeses and charcuterie. Younger children can have fun on the mini-tractors while watching the kids.

Don’t miss the farm shop, where you’ll find a selection of products made on the premises: fresh and mature goat’s cheeses, pork and goat sausages, as well as local specialities such as eggs, fruit juices, Comté cheese and Morbier cheese.
