An open-air museum

Ile Art makes art accessible to as many people as possible, free of charge and all year round. As soon as you enter, you’ll be given a booklet to follow your progress along the route and understand the creations around you.

Take a walk along the path and you’ll discover a trail of sculptures, works of art and installations, creating a real dynamic around contemporary art. This former quarry has been transformed into an open-air exhibition space, where nature has reclaimed its rights, providing an ideal setting in which to admire the works.

You can see the remains of this ancient activity: cavities of varying depths that have made the site ideal for the installation of works of art. The nature and richness of the terrain allow for a fascinating diversity of expression.

Astonishing works And inspiring

Ile Art is home to a variety of creations, including Jérôme Marcel’s “La Danse des Hommes”, a colourful and poetic ensemble swaying in the wind, and Quinto’s “L’Oie et ses oeufs”, a goose that seems to be making its way through the clearing, followed by its seven XXL eggs. You’ll also find Denis Pérez’s ‘L’Onde Sonore’, suspended between the trees, and Rainer Düvel’s red cubes framing the landscape and opening up new perspectives. Each work, whether in steel, granite or wood, is in dialogue with its environment, creating a lively and intriguing space.

Most of the walk will take place in the forest, where the silence and coolness add a touch of serenity to the atmosphere.

Île Art is a place where art and nature meet to offer an original getaway. You can explore the works at your own pace, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the park.

The park is open all year round and admission is free. Come and discover this unique site where contemporary art expresses itself in the middle of nature, and be surprised by the creativity of the artists and the beauty of the place.

Make the most of this getaway to discover the town of Pesmes, which has been awarded 3 labels, including Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.
