The English park De La Cude

The Parc de la Cude, in Mailleroncourt-Charette, is a veritable treasure trove of greenery covering 5 hectares. This English-style garden contains almost 2,000 trees and shrubs, representing over 800 species from all over the world. Managed by François, a passionate gardener, his wife Chantal and the Friends of La Cude association, the park is an enchanting place to spend time with the family.

A family history

The history of the park dates back to the 1700s, when the site was a quarry, some of the remains of which are still visible. It later became an orchard. The real adventure began in 1900, when François’ grandfather planted a cypress tree to celebrate the birth of his first daughter. Today, François has transformed this area into a lush garden, rich in botanical diversity and awarded the Jardin Remarquable label.

A beautiful diversity of landscapes

The park is distinguished by the variety of its landscapes, from woodland to glades, from orchards to Hydrangea avenues. Each visit is unique, as the plants do not all flower at the same time, offering an ever-changing spectacle. This haven of peace is ideal for children, thanks in particular to its barefoot path that invites them to reconnect with nature.

A barefoot trail To awaken your senses

The park offers a barefoot trail, designed by François for his grandchildren, which stretches over 800 metres of shaded area. This fun trail invites you to take off your shoes and explore different natural textures, such as cork, sand, mud and slate. This sensory experience lets you rediscover forgotten sensations, reconnecting you intimately with nature.

A world of creativity And poetry

Parc de la Cude is also a space for artistic expression, with land art works scattered throughout the garden. You’ll discover a trail of elves, insect hotels, intriguing sculptures and a giant dragon, with every turn offering a new visual surprise. These elements transform the park into a magical, imaginary forest.
