A natural curiosity shrouded in mystery

The Planey spring is a natural wonder that captivates all who discover it. Its fascinating colour, which varies from turquoise blue in summer to royal blue in winter, is a beautiful sight in any season. This phenomenon is explained by the presence of specific minerals in the water. The abyss, 35 metres deep and 90 metres in diameter, is a small treasure hidden deep in the forest.

To reach the site, you can take a short forestry path about 500 metres long, or opt for the longer hiking trails. The Planey spring stands out not only for its striking beauty, but also for the serene and soothing atmosphere that reigns there.

Remain vigilant

Be careful, however, especially if you are accompanied by children, as the chasm can be dangerous. Swimming is strictly forbidden, even for the bravest of you who want to brave the 11°C water.

Between legends and reality

The Planey spring is steeped in fascinating legends dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. It seems that this mystical place was once a sanctuary for witchcraft, where witches and sorcerers gathered to perform their rituals. The Sabbath, a nocturnal ceremony dedicated to magical practices, is said to have been frequently celebrated here, shrouding the site in an aura of mystery and mysticism. The turquoise water of the spring is said to possess supernatural powers, capable of bewitching anyone who approaches it. The water, so pure and so fascinating, seems almost alive, as if it holds the secrets and incantations whispered over the centuries.

For a long time, the local inhabitants avoided this place for fear of its mysterious powers, reinforcing the tales of witchcraft that surround the Planey spring. These stories, passed down from generation to generation, continue to fuel the imagination of visitors.

A discovery For the whole family

The Planey spring is the ideal place for a family outing. Picnic tables have been set up to allow visitors to enjoy a moment of relaxation, and information panels have been added to learn more about the site.

Although swimming is forbidden, simply approaching and admiring the spring is enough to fill young and old with wonder. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture this incredible place and share your memories.
