Choosing your route Among those at the mountain bike base

The Monts de Gy mountain bike base has more than 130 km of signposted trails, starting in various communes. Ideal for exploring the trails: a green route, three blue routes, two red routes and a black route ranging from 4 (beginners’ circuit) to 45 kilometres.

Let’s set off to discover the “Grand tour des Monts de Gy” trail, a 45km effort starting from Gy.

This is a circuit for mountain bikers with a little training, where electric assistance can be useful. In the end, there’s nothing insurmountable, although a few sections require a minimum of technical ability. There are no significant gradients before Charcenne, around twelve kilometres from the start in Gy. In the meantime, you will encounter a summary of the cycling surfaces to come: tarmac roads, white tracks, paths and fairly wide forest tracks.

The grand tour des Monts de Gy

Arriving in Choye is accompanied by a meeting with the Colombine, whose course you follow as far as the village of Charcenne. A typical little village, it boasts two renowned ambassadors: the Milleret cheese dairy and the Guillaume vineyards.

But this is not the time for gastronomy… The slope rises towards Autoreille, reached by a sunken lane. At the Acorus aquatic gardens, you’ll find three hectares of natural space ideal for daydreaming and strolling.

The route picks up again on a cosy forest floor, before returning to the hard terrain on a little-travelled road. There are some nice surprises here, including an unexpected Belgian-Comtois brasserie in Fontenelay! Back on a white track and fairly open space to reach Gézier, then Montboillon, and finally Bucey-lès-Gy at the end of a long stretch of forest on the heights of the Monts de Gy. Before heading back to Gy, the Domaine Cheviet and its 6 hectares of vines bring an end to a tour rich in discovery of all kinds.

Route no. 60: 45 km, 788 m ascent. Difficult level.
