Founded in the 6th century by Saint Colomban, the abbey was in operation until the French Revolution. After housing a secondary school until 2024, it is now being reinvented as a place for culture, meetings, seminars and receptions. Part of the abbey is currently being renovated. Full reopening planned for 2027. Visit the buildings and garden: This majestic building invites you to relax and contemplate. You can discover exhibitions and cultural events, its orchard and vegetable garden, its listed chapel, its new museum area and its brasserie. The Saint Colomban Museum houses a permanent exhibition featuring objects from the Abbey and explanations of the Irish monk's life. A shop sells local produce, religious objects, second-hand books and products with the "Luxeuil Abbey" label. Organise your events: Extend the experience by organising all types of private or professional events in an exceptional setting. The abbey will welcome you in 2027 after a complete renovation to provide a 150-seat restaurant, 30 bedrooms, vast social areas and fully-equipped seminar rooms.
