After ten years of touring and a first CD devoted to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Trio SR9 is continuing to explore this vast repertoire.
In this latest instalment, they rediscover works for keyboard, with the Sonata No. 3 in D minor and the Concerto in A minor for organ, as well as works for violin, lute and piano, with excerpts from the Well-Tempered Clavier and the Goldberg Variations performed on percussion keyboards.
With their marimbas and vibraphone, the musicians of Trio SR9 capture the essence of Bach's music to convey a new energy and reading. Through their own transcriptions, this programme highlights the rhythmic and percussive character of his music, while blending an enchanting and poetic universe. It reveals even more of the richness of the percussion keyboards and the Cantor's timeless writing.
