Nature lovers, relax in this exceptional accommodation located in a quiet little hamlet in the Vosges Saônoise, a paradise for cyclists and hikers, at the foot of the Plateau des 1000 étangs.
This former miller's house, built on the banks of the river, has been completely renovated in the "Scandinavian chalet" style.
In summer, take advantage of the spacious swimming pool and the cool Breuchin river. In winter, you'll appreciate the warm, cosy atmosphere of the wood.
Accommodation
Chalet des Aigrettes is a very spacious, light-filled accommodation that can comfortably accommodate a dozen people, over a surface area of 200m2 spread over 2 floors.
It is part of a very old property built on the banks of the Breuchin river: the "Moulin de La Voivre". In Napoleon's time, the mill produced flour, tannin and walnut oil, and was then converted into a sawmill until the end of the last century.
Now entirely covered in wood and gradually being painted Scandinavian-style in red and white, the mill comprises several buildings:
- the former miller's dwelling, an 18th-century building that has been renovated and converted into a gîte: the Chalet des Aigrettes.
- The former sawmill, which we have converted into our own home.
The two completely independent dwellings form an "L" shape and are separated by a barn.
We took great care in renovating the gîte ourselves, choosing natural, healthy materials: wood is omnipresent inside and out, the paints and oil treatments were made by us from natural products (ochre, linseed oil, clay...), and the furniture and light fittings are unique pieces, created by us.
The gîte is thermally and acoustically insulated. Double-glazed windows ensure peaceful nights and a relaxing stay, and the pellet stove heats the whole house in winter.
A range of baby equipment is available free of charge on request: a cot with sheets and duvet, a bath, a changing table and a high chair.
We have selected quality, ecological and natural mattresses and duvets (Le Matelas Vert) and locally sourced cotton sheets (Tradition des Vosges). The BZ sofas are also top-of-the-range, for a quality bed. All the bed bases are slatted.
Beds are made up on arrival (4-season duvet + extra blanket). We supply bath sheets, towels and shower mats.
Basic products and accessories are provided (soap, shower shampoo, cleaning products, washing-up liquid, tea towels, etc.).
The built-in kitchen is spacious, bright and practical, and fully equipped with appliances, crockery and utensils for cooking tasty meals and sharing convivial moments. Two fondue machines and two raclette machines are at your disposal!
The Chalet des Aigrettes is equipped with fibre. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. Several Ethernet sockets allow you to connect your laptops directly to the network for optimum connection (only one Ethernet cable is provided, so don't forget to bring your own equipment).
Access for travellers
The gîte has a pleasant outdoor dining area and a magnificent riverside field.
These are not attached to the accommodation: you can access them from the gîte car park, a few dozen metres from the house.
The private car park is available free of charge for up to 4 vehicles, with the option of recharging your electric batteries using two reinforced sockets (consumption is invoiced at the end of your stay after the meter has been read, at a rate of €0.25 per kwh).
A lovely flat grassy area of around 700m2 awaits you a little further downstream, still beside the river, in a sunny part of the garden. This area is ideal for outdoor games and relaxation, with a table tennis table, badminton/volleyball net, archery set for children, Finnish skittles and other games, not to mention a petanque area (10mx3.5m) and a superb above-ground swimming pool (7.32mx3.66mx1.32m) that can accommodate up to ten people.
Anglers can indulge their passion without leaving the property, which has around a hundred metres of well-cleared riverbank (fishing cards available from local shops).
We have a fire bowl 80cm in diameter with a grate and dry wood. You'll be able to toast marshmallows by the river in the evening!
There's garden furniture with 6 chairs and a coffee table, as well as 6 deckchairs and 2 sun loungers for you to relax in.
Please note that our house overlooks the playground and swimming pool, but everyone has their privacy thanks to the curtains drawn on our terrace (and we don't use this side of the house much when the gîte is rented out).
On site, you can keep busy outside if the weather is fine (swimming pool, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, pétanque, Finnish bowling, archery for the little ones), with the possibility of playing in the river and fishing (we do not provide the equipment).
Inside, if it's raining, we have table football and lots of board games.
