The film sets out to meet Hervé Coves, a thinker on the living world and an ardent defender of agro-ecology in France. It is intended as a sensitive portrait of the scientific and spiritual journey of this agricultural engineer, for many years an advisor and then research director at the Limousin and Corrèze chambers of agriculture, whose experience and expertise in the field have led him to think critically about intensive agriculture, particularly in the wake of the mad cow crisis.
From a scientific point of view, the film will retrace his research, discoveries and experiments in agro-ecology and the solutions he recommends, some of which are proposed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), such as planting trees, creating wetlands by reintroducing beavers and creating biodiversity corridors.
