It was during her final year of secondary school that Julia Senjean-Rigaud decided to embark on the path of instrument making. She passed the entrance exams, and was admitted to the Ecole Nationale de Lutherie de Mirecourt in 2012, where she studied the making of quartet instruments (violin, viola and cello) for three years.
At the same time, she met Dutch violin maker Gesina Liedmeier, who is renowned in the world of viola da gamba making. It was a great opportunity to learn from her. To this day, she remains Julia's most important source of inspiration.
