Our walk begins at Héricourt town hall, with a view of the glazed tiles of Saint Christophe church. We walk along the River Lizaine, round the old barracks and into the forest that borders the town. This is where the Bois du Roi begins, leading us to the pretty village of Vyans-le-Val, where the most patient will be able to spot deer and horses. As we descend the wood towards Laire, we can see the grotto of Tante Arie, a legendary figure from the Héricourt region. Passing through Tavey, you pass the imposing Epenottes viaduct on the LGV line before reaching Héricourt and our starting point.
