L'Échappée des 1000 étangs

  • Natural Site

12,000 years ago, in the south-western part of the Vosges Massif, the melting of the glaciers led to the formation of numerous bodies of water, creating a unique landscape: the Plateau des 1000 Étangs. The latter is also nicknamed "Little Finland" because of the postglacial landscapes that evoke Scandinavian natural environments

More than a simple road itinerary, the 1000 Ponds Escape is about experiencing the landscape and heritage. The landscape breaks, placed at key points of the territory, are interactive with a sensory approach
Remarkable sites (ponds, peat bogs, belvederes, waterfalls, towns of character, historical heritage, etc.) have also been set up on the outskirts of the Escape.

Discover the exceptional natural wealth of the 1000 Lakes: on foot, by bike, on mountain bike, on horseback or by car!
