Les jardins de Théophile has been producing organic fruit, vegetables and free-range poultry in Confracourt since 2013. Cyrille Chaillé was born in the Charente region of France, and after a variety of professional experiences and training in organic market gardening in Montmorrot (39), he embarked on the adventure of small-scale farming. Set up in the heart of the village, the gardens have been free from chemical inputs from the outset, and the soil is worked with the help of a Comtoise mare, Jadis, to keep compaction to a minimum.
Since its creation, the farm has expanded to include a canning workshop, enabling Cyrille and his new partner Céline to transform their produce into jams, soups, spreads and more.
In January 2025, the market gardeners bought out the only traditional canning factory in Haute-Saône, which was located in Meurcourt, in order to make better use of their produce. With the move and the first batches behind them, and the market gardening season well under way, the two new partners decided to reopen the farm shop, which had remained closed since the health crisis.
The shop is now open every Monday from 4.30pm to 7pm, and every Friday from 9.30am to 12pm.
As well as producing organic fruit, vegetables and preserves, the market gardeners sell poultry to order, as well as products from other local producers.
They also offer special rates for professionals and works councils wishing to sell local and artisanal products.
