The Marcel Maulini Mine Museum in Ronchamp will close again in 2023 as part of a redevelopment and rehabilitation project.

Mining was not an activity reserved for the north of France. For two centuries, coal production shaped the landscape of Ronchamp and left a lasting impression on people.
The museum is a true tribute to the miner and tells the story of the events, both tragic and joyful, that punctuated the small town of Ronchamp.
From the miner's tools to the blasts of firedamp, via the Polish community of Ronchamp and its local figure, Marcel Maulini, the museum aims to reflect the history of the miners.
It is easy to imagine the particular conditions of work in the mine. As you walk through the museum, you will discover the hard work "down there" in the galleries, shafts and headframes that are characteristic of the mining landscape, as well as the tools that are essential to the smooth running of the mine.
Doctor Maulini, the founder of the museum, also specialised in the occupational disease that has become known as silicosis, and you can discover his work.
