A scientific operation called "STOC-capture", which uses the principle of capture-recapture to provide an estimate of the demographic trends of the most common passerines in our countryside.
The ringing station is set up at the Maison de la Nature in Brussey from 2pm to 4pm on the first day, followed by ringing until dark (bring boots, headlamp and packed lunch). The following day, ringing from daybreak until midday, then packing up. This monitoring is a study commissioned by the CRBPO (Centre de recherches sur la biologie des populations d'oiseaux) and interested participants are invited to register as "ringing helpers" with those in charge. To register, contact florian.lepaul@laposte.net / 06 45 71 83 40 or pierrepiotte@orange.fr / 03 81 80 27 66. Places are limited in order to avoid a large influx of people who might disrupt the birds' nesting season.
