Vibrate to the rhythm Music festivals

Every year, the lives of the people of Haute-Saône and their holidaymakers are filled with concerts and music festivals that are not to be missed! We’ve put together a selection of not-to-be-missed events for you!

The Pluralies

Every summer since 2002, Luxeuil-les-Bains has come alive with Les Pluralies, a festival combining culture and heritage. For four days, the town’s historic centre becomes an open-air stage, hosting a varied, high-quality programme.

The Abbey Cloister and the Maison du Cardinal Jouffroy are transformed into unique performance venues. In the evening, these historic settings resonate with artistic performances. The Pluralies are distinguished by their desire to create social links and enable people to rediscover the town from a new angle. In this way, the festival responds to the public’s summertime desire to enjoy open-air events, while at the same time promoting Luxover’s heritage. Every year, this eclectic event attracts artists from all horizons, offering visitors an unforgettable cultural experience in the heart of Haute-Saône.

Music and Memory The baroque echo of the Southern Vosges

Since 1994, the Festival Musique et Mémoire has been enchanting the southern Vosges with its baroque harmonies. Born on the 1000 Étangs plateau, this musical event has become a national benchmark for the baroque scene. Over the years, the festival has extended its reach to emblematic heritage sites such as the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Haut in Ronchamp and the Basilique Saint-Pierre in Luxeuil-les-Bains. This combination of music and heritage offers a unique perspective on the cultural identity of Haute-Saône. The rich and varied programme attracts a loyal and growing audience. Renowned ensembles and emerging artists perform in exceptional natural and architectural settings, creating a perfect symbiosis between art and environment. Recognised by the media and acclaimed by music lovers, the Festival Musique et Mémoire continues to enrich the cultural landscape.

Estivales de Saône

Every summer, Haute-Saône comes alive with the Estivales de Saône, a travelling festival organised by Echo System, the department’s Scène de Musiques Actuelles. This event has established itself as a not-to-be-missed summer rendezvous, combining musical discovery and conviviality. The festival offers a series of free open-air concerts, criss-crossing the villages of the region. Each performance is supported by a local association, providing refreshments and a warm atmosphere. As well as musical performances, the Estivales de Saône offer vocal training courses and music workshops, encouraging the active participation of the public. This inclusive approach strengthens the links between artists and local residents, while promoting the local heritage.

Rolling Saône

Every year, Gray plays host to the Rolling Saône Festival, a major music event in the Haute-Saône region. Set on the banks of the River Saône, close to the historic centre, the festival attracts over 6,500 spectators to the Halle Sauzay. This 1,000 m² covered structure makes Rolling Saône a unique festival, both outdoors and protected from the vagaries of the weather. Since 2012, two stages have been facing each other, offering a fluid and varied programme. Over three days, the festival mixes renowned artists with local talent, offering a rich and diverse musical experience.

ROAFF

Set in the unusual surroundings of La Filature, the Ronchamp Open Air Filature Festival (ROAFF) offers an audacious line-up of local artists and emerging talents. From metal to rap, rock and electro, the festival covers a broad spectrum of contemporary music. Born of an initiative by the people of Ronchamp, this event celebrates the start of the holidays in a spirit of freedom and conviviality. Over two intense evenings, ROAFF transforms Ronchamp into a musical epicentre. Artists such as Pierre Hugues José, Lys Impala and Chiloo have left their mark on previous editions, illustrating the diversity of the festival. The ROAFF stands out for its warm atmosphere and its commitment to promoting the contemporary music scene.

Festimof

Since 2007, Festimof has been transforming the village of Moffans, near Lure, into a musical stage for an evening. Held in August, this free event celebrates contemporary music. From 350 spectators at its beginnings, the festival has grown to attract a varied audience, and now attracts nearly 2,000 people each year. Festimof gives a platform to regional volunteer groups. Each year, five groups are selected to perform, benefiting from a professional infrastructure including a stage, sound system and lighting. This local initiative, driven by a passion for music, continues to evolve, promising a lively evening of musical discoveries in the heart of Haute-Saône.

Colomb'in Rock The 100% tribute festival

Every August, the town of Colombe-lès-Vesoul vibrates to the rhythm of Colomb’in Rock, which has become one of the biggest tribal festivals in France. Born over a decade ago in the village square, the event has grown spectacularly, from 500 spectators at its beginnings to 18,000 in 2023. This success has led to it being moved to the local stadium, which offers better facilities. The festival offers two intense evenings dedicated to musical tributes, with a 100% rock and tributes programme.

A tribute festival is a musical event featuring groups or artists who pay tribute to famous musicians by performing their songs. These groups, often called “tribute bands”, imitate not only the musical repertoire of their idols, but also their style, look and attitude on stage.

Music'En Brousse

Since 1999, Music’En Brousse has been bringing Jussey’s music scene to life. This cultural association, dedicated to organising concerts, has evolved over the years to meet the expectations of an ever-growing audience. In 2014, to mark its 15th anniversary, the festival took a new turn by moving outdoors to Jussey. This move has enabled us to offer a more ambitious programme on a bigger stage. Music’En Brousse stands out for its musical eclecticism, mixing rock, pop and traditional sounds.

Organ Saturdays

From May to September, every first Saturday of the month, the Samedis de l’Orgue invites you to discover the majestic instrument of the Abbaye Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul in Luxeuil-les-Bains. Organised by Culture 70, the Association Les Amis de l’Orgue and the Luxeuil-les-Bains Tourist Office, this event offers an enriching musical immersion. At 11am, attend a presentation of the organ and the works that will be performed later in the day. At 5pm, a free concert features a talented artist playing on this historic organ.

Around five Saturdays are scheduled each year, offering visitors the perfect opportunity to enjoy musical moments in an exceptional setting.

Jacques Brel Festival

Since its creation in 2000, the Jacques Brel Festival has become a major event on the French-language music scene. Held in Vesoul, the festival promotes the Jeunes Talents competition, an essential springboard for emerging artists. Each year, the competition attracts participants eager to make a name for themselves in the music world.

The month-long festival features around twenty artists, including some of the biggest names in the business. With a varied programme, it offers over thirty concerts celebrating the diversity of French-language music. Recognised at national level, the Festival Jacques Brel continues to enrich musical culture while supporting new talent. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover moving performances and to vibrate to the sound of the most beautiful French-language melodies.

International Festival Folklore

For over 30 years, Port-sur-Saône has been transformed into a vibrant cultural crossroads every summer. The International Folklore Festival, held at the beginning of August, attracts over 20,000 spectators, making this small town in Haute-Saône a focal point for world traditions. For several days, the streets come alive to the sound of music from all over the world. Artists from the four corners of the globe share their cultural heritages through performances of dance, song and music. This diversity creates a vibrant mosaic of colourful costumes and haunting melodies. Visitors can travel across the continents without leaving Haute-Saône.
