A panorama Haute-Saône

The view from the Sainte-Anne chapel is truly breathtaking. On a clear day, the view is far-reaching, encompassing not only the Ognon valley, but also the Doubs and Loue valleys. On a clear day, you can even see the peaks of the Alps, including the majestic Mont Blanc. An orientation table helps you identify the various points of interest visible on the horizon.

The Sainte-Anne chapel, built in 1650, is at the heart of several legends. One of them tells of the miraculous discovery of a statuette of Sainte-Anne in a bush around the year 548. Some time after the statuette had been placed in the village church, it was found again in the bush. This discovery is said to have led to the erection of a hermitage in 551, the forerunner of today’s chapel. Another version of the legend attributes the discovery to an ox in 1848.

These stories add a mystical dimension to the site.

An ideal setting For relaxation and contemplation

The surroundings of the Sainte-Anne chapel are perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. Benches set up under an avenue of trees are ideal for a contemplative stop: take a break and enjoy the scenery to the full. The site evokes the bucolic atmosphere of the English countryside, creating an unexpected change of scenery in the heart of Haute-Saône. It’s the ideal place for a picnic or simply to recharge your batteries away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
