Brasserie de la Comté

We are Céline and Thomas, a couple who one day wondered how to brew a beer. After researching in books and on the internet, we set off on the adventure.
At first as individuals for our own consumption, we then decided to create a family business to turn our passion into a profession.
We wanted to combine this passion with another one: Viking historical re-enactment.
We like to relive the Viking era for a weekend or a medieval festival. We are passionate about history and we started brewing beer around this universe.
The Shire Brewery was born in August 2019.
Why beer? It is a fascinating drink as much for its chemistry as its alchemy. It has existed since 6000 years before Christ. It has accompanied mankind throughout history, from the birth of civilisation to the present day. Of course, the recipes are not the same, but the little touch of the 21st century is good too!
We develop beers that we perfect as we test them. Eventually we would like to make a beer that resembles as much as possible what people drank in those days (different herbs/hops... And why not use their utensils).
