From the Étang Neuf, a natural area with chalets and huts for hikers who have kept their childlike spirit, the hiking trail reveals Passavant-la-Rochère's industrial past as it passes by six former tile works, three of which were still in operation in the 1950s. But the advent of the cement tile precipitated the closure of the last tile works, halving the village's population over the same period.
