The tour invites you to discover the town's rich heritage, accompanied by an enthusiastic volunteer. The town has preserved the Porte Saint-Hilaire and several 16th-century residences, including the Hôtel Chateau-Rouillaud and the Maison Royale. The church of Saint-Hilaire (13th to 16th century) is one of the richest monuments in Franche-Comté, thanks to the adjoining chapels, in particular that of Sainte-Catherine (14 statues from the 14th and 16th centuries) and that of Andelot (16th century), celebrated by its sumptuous polychrome marble decoration, from Sampans (Jura), the work of Denis le Rupt (who also designed the pulpit). He did not fail to mark on Jean d'Andelot's cheek the glorious gash he received from Francis I at the siege of Pavia (1525). The triptych (1561) in the choir was painted by Jacques Prévost from Pesm, a pupil of Michelangelo. There is an 18th century forge master's house on the banks of the Ognon, downstream.
