  • Guided tours
Bibliothèque - Fonds Ancien, Place Charles de Gaulle, 70100 Gray

Description

Guided tour Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Calligraphy workshop for adults on Saturday at 3pm.
The heritage collection originated in the revolutionary seizures of 1789. Most of the manuscripts and incunabula come from religious communities in the town and surrounding area. The library contains around 25,000 volumes. Transferred to the Jesuit College at the beginning of the 19th century, it was then moved to the current building, specially constructed in 1858, next to the Town Hall. The old collection has not yet been fully computerised.
