Le relais de la Vaivre

We are delighted to welcome you to the Relais de la Vaivre, in its Cambuse. This naturally atypical place dating from 1840 at the intersection of the Petite Saône and its lock 17 at Apremont in the commune of Mantoche is designed to be convivial. This adventure and this radical change for us is the realisation of a project that was born on the banks of the Saône out of love for this ever-changing river. The "voie bleue" is a popular route for itinerants, cycle tourists, walkers and pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Over the last few years, thanks to the many surprising and enjoyable encounters we've had with people from all over the world, we wanted to create a friendly, intergenerational place that would bring together people from the local area and from elsewhere, creating links and cultural exchanges between these travellers and the locals. Just a few kilometres from Essertenne and Cecey, Apremont and Mantoche, it's easily accessible on foot, by bike or by car. We invite you to take a stroll along the banks of the canal, where the "voie bleue", or V50 as it's known, was named Europe's most beautiful cycle route this year. Here you can enjoy a relaxing break in a warm and welcoming green setting. The snack bar, "la Cambuse", serves homemade ice creams, waffles, savoury dishes, seasonal snacks and various local drinks. You can also order bread and cooked pork meats from us (order form to be collected beforehand). Theme days and evenings are also available. Tents are available for touring campers.
