Construction of the tunnel (or, more accurately, the vault) dates back to the 19th century and took 54 years, costing many workers their lives. Today, this 643-metre-long underground canal leaves no traveller unmoved. Nearby, on dry land, just a stone's throw from the Via Francigena, it is also the starting point for some wonderful walks in the heart of a generous and peaceful natural environment. Adventurers can take part in an Explor' Games® game, "L'Antre du Drakkar", and help Sigéric find his artefacts.
