Visit the Espace Maurice Happe, dedicated to the history of 116 Air Base "Lieutenant-Colonel Tony Papin".
The Espace Maurice Happe is a genuine heritage space dedicated to the history of the "Lieutenant-Colonel Tony Papin" 116 Air Base. An aeronautical history itself closely linked to the history of the town of Luxeuil-les-Bains. From the first Zouzette airfield, through the creation of the American Escadrille, renamed Escadrille La Fayette at the end of 1916, the visit continues with the Battle of France and the Liberation. The museum area boasts a rich collection of aeronautical equipment and artefacts from the modern period, including the F84, Mirage IIIE, Mirage IV and Mirage 2000N. Finally, you can discover the air defence mission carried out by the Luxeuil Saint-Sauveur base since 2011 through the 01.002 "Cigognes" fighter group and its Mirage 2000-5F.
